Kalimat yang di cetak tebal adalah ekspresi yang digunakan untuk menanyakan arah dalam bahasa Inggris “Can you show me the way to police office, please?) ada kata “please” adalah ungkapan kesopanan dalam bertanya atau meminta sesuatu. Namun situasi di atas si penjawab tidak tahu arah ke kantor polisi sehingga tidak bisa menunjukannya, “Oh, sorry, I am afraid I don’t know.”. Jika anda tidak tahu anda bisa meresponnya seperti tadi.
